Heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath have collaborated with Marvel on a new line of Iron Man branded merch. There’s of course a bit of shared history involved with the two parties. First off, Marvel‘s introduction of the Iron Man superhero character took place back in 1962. Sabbath‘s song of the same name arrived in October of 1971, and was unrelated to the aforementioned character.
However, the Sabbath classic would make its way into the 2008 film ‘Iron Man‘, which launched the MCU franchise. ‘Iron Man‘ star Robert Downey Jr. also sported a Black Sabbath shirt in the 2012 MCU film ‘The Avengers‘.
With the band and brand/publisher, etc. having already united on the big screen, the pair have now aligned for several merch offerings, including two shorts, a hoodie, a hat and a beanie. You can pick those up via blacksabbathapparelshop.com. This isn’t a first foray for Marvel into the world of heavy metal, as in the band the brand have also collaborated with Iron Maiden and more.
