Update: September 15th, 2024 12:37pm:

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro has now shared the following post on social media this morning (September 15th), which may indicate the future of the legendary alternative rock band. The included photo finds him holding an acoustic guitar upside down with Jane’s Addiction’s logo on the backside of the guitar. He captioned the photo ‘Goodnight…’.

Original Story:

Jane’s Addiction have announced that they will not be hitting to the stage in Bridgeport, CT tonight, September 15th, as planned. The veteran alternative rock outfit, who began their career back in 1985, have been having a rocky North American run in recent weeks. Warning signs truly began to show early last week when Farrell struggled through the first of two back to back shows in New York City, NY.

The 65-year-old vocalist appeared to be somewhat incoherent and had difficulties keeping on pace with the rest of the band, mumbling his way through parts of the set. While Farrell blamed his troubles on issues his voice, fans in attendance expressed their concerns that he may have been under the influence of something. A number of concertgoers took to  the band’s social media to request refunds after the show, citing their unhappiness with Farrell‘s performance after the show.

While the group were able to get back on the same page and deliver a much improved set the day after, this past Friday night’s (September 13th) concert in Boston, MA ended in a violent altercation between Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. Farrell‘s wife would go on to offer her side of the incident, having been attendance at the show.

Overnight the group issued the following statement, confirming that they won’t be performing tonight, while also apologizing for the aforementioned incident which cut their Friday set short.

“We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night.

As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport

Refunds will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased via a third-party reseller (StubHub, SeatGeek, etc.), reach out to them directly.

Thank you
Jane’s Addiction
