Buffalo, NY-based metalcore quintet Until I Wake have put out a lyric video for their new single, “The Reverence“. The song further introduces fans of the band to their latest vocalist, Justin Smith. It stands as the second track they’ve released since officially instating him into the group. The Plot In You‘s Landon Tewers oversaw the production and recording of this cut, which Smith had the following to say of:
“‘The Reverence‘ is a big ‘f**k you’ to all the people who try to shit on you, to the people who tried to shit on me when I joined the band, to the teachers in school who would try to convince me music was a waste of time, and to the ones who hate themselves so much, their only joy in life is to drag people down to their level cause they’re too afraid to take risks and chase something for themselves. Deep within this risk taking group of individuals, is an unspoken respect, therefore the name ‘The Reverence.'”
Guitarist Niko Karras added:
“I wrote the instrumental after leaving the gym in about three hours before heading to Landon‘s studio. I had so much adrenaline after working out, we ended up making the heaviest song we have ever written.”
