Pelican have wrapped up tracking their seventh studio album. That record will arrive as the band’s first with guitarist Laurent Schoeder-Lebec since 2009. Lebec stepped away from the outfit back in 2012 and rejoined them back in 2022.
Speaking today (September 03rd) on social media of the conclusion of the sessions for the album, the band stated:
“Elated to say we have finished tracking our upcoming 7th album, our first with founding guitarist Laurent Lebec since 2009. Now begins the long process of mixing, mastering, & manufacturing, but we can safely say it’ll be worth the wait. If you want a preview of the new songs there are a couple of live opportunities coming up sooner than later.”
The group showcased material from that new album live during an August 16th show at the Gman Tavern in Chicago, IL prior to heading to the studio.
Forthcoming live shows include:
09/07 Chicago, IL – Metro (feat. Russian Circles & Djunah)
10/25 Asheville, NC – Heavy Mountain Fest
