Tool Lining Up South American Festival Touring For Early 2025

While there is currently hope that members of Tool are actively working on new material for their highly anticipated follow-up to their 2019 comeback album “Fear Inoculum“, there’s also no shortage of distractions from the band’s often notoriously laborious creative process.

While bassist Justin Chancellor has seemingly hinted at getting back in the saddle to hammer out new tracks, drummer Danny Carey has been seen lately rehearsing for this fall’s ‘Beat Tour, which will find him covering King Crimson tracks alongside Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Steve Vai.

Now comes word that the multi-platinum alternative metal stars have been locked in for a spring run of South American dates, leaving them a feasible window of a scant a few months to potentially bang something out together unhindered before returning to the road again.

With the fifth anniversary of “Fear Inoculum” having just passed last week, and Tool‘s track record of noted perfectionism when it comes to the studio, it seems the band’s long-suffering fanbase that are eager for more new music likely have awhile to wait yet. Still, not all hope is lost, have a few new song ideas up their sleeves already.

As for those hoping to catch the band live next year, their touring plans thus far are set to run as follows:

03/21-23 Buenos Aires, ARG – Hipodromo de San Isidro (‘Lollapalooza Argentina‘)
03/21-23 Santiago, CHL – Parque Cerrillos (‘Lollapalooza Chile‘)
03/27-30 Bogota, COL – Parque Simon Bolivar (‘Estereo Picnic‘)
03/28-29 Sao Paulo, BRA – Autodromo de Interlagos (‘Lollapalooza Brasil‘)

The bulk of those shows will find Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Timberlake and more headlining, with Tool maintaining a respectably high billing.
