Linkin Park's Countdown Timer Has Seemingly Served Up A Cryptic Tease

The over 50 thousand fans awaiting the livestreamed end of Linkin Park‘s 100 hour countdown timer didn’t exactly get what they were hoping for today, August 28th. After anticipation of the band’s rumored 2025 reunion tour reached a fever pitch in the culmination of the countdown, the clock instead played a glitchy animation and began counting back upwards.

Fans have noticed that a subsequent glitch of the clock seemed to display the numbers 00:09:05, leading to speculation that September 05th may play some significance in their plans. Rumors of a potential live return as early as next month have also been floating around. Linkin Park for their part also played up said glitch sharing “It’s only a matter of time…” on their social media:

As of press time, the counter is now 1 hour into its upward climb, and the band’s own Mike Shinoda has been seen in the comments of the livestream, offering the eyes emoji. Per reports and rumors that emerged earlier this year, the band were reportedly plotting a 2025 return with festival dates and potentially more shows planned. An unnamed female singer has been thought to be taking over the vocal duties previously held by the late Chester Bennington.
