Falling In Reverse‘s fifth studio album ‘Popular Monster” has opened at #12 on the Billboard 200. That record notched up 30,929 units amid its first week of availability, putting it at #1 on the Current Rock Albums, Current Alternative Albums & Current Hard Music Albums charts, among others.
While that number may seem low considering the hype surrounding the release, the record itself has already accumulated 723,000 album equivalent units in the U.S., with 1.96 billion streams globally. That sum has locked in the album for a future gold certification by the RIAA in the United States.
The discrepancy between the total numbers and the first week tally stems from the inclusion of numerous singles which were released well in advance of the record’s arrival last week (the title track was released back in 2019, etc.).
As such, several singles from the album have already earned hardware in the U.S. for the alternative metal band. The title track was certified 2x platinum in December of 2023, alongside “Zombified” going gold. Furthermore, “Watch The World Burn” and “Voices In My Head” both went gold this past February.
