Multi-platinum alternative rockstars the Foo Fighters have publicly condemned the usage of their 1997 single “My Hero” by former U.S. President Donald Trump, and now former U.S. presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. That song was aired amid a rally in Glendale, AZ yesterday, August 23rd, in which Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign and gave his endorsement to Trump. The song could be heard as Trump welcomed Kennedy Jr. to the stage.

Per Billboard.com, a spokesperson for the Foos stated of the song’s usage, “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The spokesperson further clarified that “appropriate actions” are being taken against the Trump campaign for the song. It was also specified that should the Trump campaign continue to use the song, any royalties generated from it in that regard will be donated to the Democrat presidential ticket of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
