Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson has found himself in the hospital after suffering serious burns due to as he put it, ‘an explosion in his face.’ In the below video he shared to social media today, August 23rd, from the hospital, he stated:
“Hey everybody. I had an explosion in my face. I’m OK. I’m gonna be OK. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.” In the below video he explained that he was undergoing x-rays to ascertain if he had inhaled any flames and suffered internal injuries from the incident. He later added, “I’m gonna be alright you guys and I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour.”
In a follow-up video Wilson shared from an ambulance, he revealed that he was being transported to a different facility that was better suited to treat his burns. He also assured fans that he would be “OK”. In the below story shared by his wife, Kelly Osbourne, she revealed that Wilson suffered the injury while tending to burn piles on their farm property. As Osbourne put it on her Instagram stories, “this is why you don’t fuc*k with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything.”
Wilson himself added of the accident in a video of his own that he sustained that injuries from a “bonfire” at his farm. He stated, that the burn pile in question was “burnt from last night already, but there was some leftovers. I got a little woosh of fire.”
Wilson‘s bandmates in Slipknot also issued a statement on the matter, sharing:
“Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”
