There’s just over a month and change between now and the September 27th release of Heriot‘s debut album, “Devoured By The Mouth of Hell“. The UK post-metalcore band tracked that outing with vocalist/bassist Jake Packer and Josh Middleton (Sylosis, ex-Architects) co-producing. GRAMMY Award-winning producer/musician Will Putney (Body Count, Every Time I Die) was assigned the mixing duties.
This third single, “At The Fortress Gate“, premieres in tandem with a music video directed by Harry Steel. It was filmed amid the band’s run on the European/UK festival circuit this spring/summer. As for the meaning behind the song, the outfit collectively stated:
“‘At The Fortress Gate‘ explores the experience of being trapped within a regime, battling against overwhelming forces, feeling powerless, and reflecting on the immense suffering endured by humanity.”
