Slipknot bassist Alessandro “Vman” Venturella has updated his mask, enlisting the talents of visual artist/sculptor Hedi Xandt to craft the new piece. Venturella first donned this latest iteration of his onstage attire last week. According to Xandt, “Its design nods to earlier incarnations of V Man‘s face and references Italian expressionist sculptures ravaged and converted into a mask by brute force. This ‘slashed’ appearance is one of three different designs.”
Venturella rolled out the mask for the band’s just launched 25th anniversary tour in support of their 2x multi-platinum self-titled 1999 album. That trek kicked off in Noblesville, IN this past week, with the band devoting the setlist solely to their mid to late 90s material.
That celebratory trek will continue on over the coming months, with this year’s dates to run as follows.
