Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith took on the task of coming up with his own parts for Bring Me The Horizon‘s 2013 single “Can You Feel My Heart” as part of a challenge put to him by Drumeo. The 62-year-old funk rock icon was not familiar with the Sheffield, UK-based alternative metal stars, nor had he heard the track in advance.
In the below video, you can watch him work his way through a version of the song that had the percussion removed, allowing him to come up with his own drum parts on the spot. After adding his own flavor to the track, he was then introduced to the full studio version of it.
