Wargaming previously welcomed Megadeth‘s Vic Rattlehead, Iron Maiden‘s Eddie, and Sabaton, into their various free-to-play video games. This year will see Rob Zombie and late Motörhead vocalist/bassist Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, as well as the latter band’s Warpig mascot, showing up in ‘World Of Tanks Modern Armor‘.

The Motörhead camp stated: “Modern technology has enabled us to have Lemmy fully integrated into the game, which felt appropriate given that this is exactly the sort of game he played and avidly enjoyed.”

The game’s audio director Bredan Blewett commented:

Motörhead guided the development of both the Warpig and Lemmy voices. For Lemmy, it was obvious that using a sound-alike would lack an important level of authenticity. So, we collaborated with the band to create an A.I. emulation of Lemmy‘s voice, based on original voice samples from his private unpublished archives, including interviews and raw in-booth recordings.”

In addition to cosmetic items and skins, Lemmy, Warpig and Rob Zombie will also be appearing as 3D commanders in the game. The involvement of the aforementioned metal / hard rock royalty is part of this year’s ‘Metal Fest‘ event in the game, which will run from July 30th through to August 20th. Past offerings from Maiden, Megadeth and Sabaton will also once again be available as part of this event. Further details can be found via worldoftanks.com.
