Guns N’ Roses vocalist Axl Rose once again joined Billy Joel onstage tonight, this time for a trio of tracks during the latter diamond-certified singer-songwriter’s concert at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY tonight (July 25th.) Rose sat in on covers of two tracks he is intimately familiar with: AC/DC‘s “Highway To Hell” and Wings‘ “Live And Let Die“.
Rose of course fronted AC/DC back in the mid 2010s, while Guns N’ Roses released their own cover of “Live And Let Die” back in 1991. AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson was also the first guest of Joel‘s residency at the aforementioned venue back in 2014.
Rose later came out for the set closing performance of Joel‘s “You May Be Right“. The night was historic for both the acclaimed venue and Joel, marking his 150th performance at Madison Square Garden — the most for any singular artist. It was also the final planned show of his decade-long monthly residency at the venue. That milestone was officially honored earlier in the night by the venue and talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
