Diamond-certified rap rock/country artist Kid Rock performed at last night’s (July 18th) Republican National Convention, reworking the lyrics of his 2000 Metallica-sampling track “American Bad Ass” to stump for former U.S. President, and newly appointed presidential nominee for the GOP, Donald J Trump. Rock has long been an advocate and friend of Trump, with the pair having hung out together numerous times.
Footage of the official broadcast of the event in Milwaukee, WI found some members of the audience responding enthusiastically, including current vice president hopeful J.D. Vance, though it would appear that Rock‘s brand of rap and rock may not have entirely landed with the age demographic in attendance.
Fan-filmed footage of a rehearsal of the song has also emerged online, which as you’d expect, saw Rock running through the track to a small handful of attendees.
