Denver, CO cosmic death metal quartet Blood Incantation are gearing up to release their third studio album “Absolute Everywhere” on October 04th via Century Media. The nearly 45-minute listen is spread across two movements: “The Stargate” and “The Message“, both of which clock in at over 20 minutes.
Producer Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Soulfly) oversaw the recording sessions for this outing at Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin, Germany last July. A pair of guests also lent a hand on this effort, including Thorsten Quaeschning (Tangerine Dream), and Malte Gericke (SIJJIN/ex-Necros Christos).
Vocalist/guitarist Paul Riedl commented:
“‘Absolute Elsewhere‘ is our most potent audial extract/musical trip yet; like the soundtrack to a Herzog-style Sci-Fi epic about the history of/battle for human consciousness itself, via a 70s Prog album played by a 90s Death Metal band from the future.”
The 70’s prog rock reference isn’t just lip service either, with the album taking its name from the King Crimson-affiliated outfit of the same name. If you want to delve deeper into the world that Blood Incantation have cooked up this time out, a Stargate Research Society Discord and this Elsewhere Searcher app have both launched. Per a press release:
‘Researchers at the society recently unearthed an 80’s era floppy disk containing vintage celestial tracker software. The researchers were able to re-activate the space tracker and through meticulous study of the visible solar system have noticed the appearance of a new red planet in the vicinity of Orion’s Belt. The researchers also claim that the new planet is intermittently emitting signals, although no recordings of these transmissions have been captured yet. The society has made their research available to the public in an effort to warn citizens of the planet’s rapid approach toward Earth, with a possible collision occurring in October 2024.’
