Avant-garde metal outfit Mr. Bungle took to covering the 1978 single “Hopelessly Devoted To You” amid their concert last night (March 03rd) at the Auckland Town Hall in Auckland, NZ. That love ballad was penned by John Farrar and made famous by Olivia Newton-John thanks in part to its inclusion in the 1978 musical ‘Grease‘.
Fan-filmed footage of that cover taking place can be found below. As proof that you’re never quite sure what you’ll get with Mr. Bungle, the group directly followed up this penultimate track in their setlist with their frequent cover choice of Sepultura‘s “Territory“.
