Police have arrested former Mr. Bungle member Theobald Brooks “Theo” Lengyel, charging the 54-year-old musician with the murder of his girlfriend, 61-year-old Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann. Authorities had previously been pursuing Lengyel as a ‘person of interest’ in her disappearance.
Herrmann was last seen on December 03rd of 2023 and a resulting police investigation into her disappearance led authorities to discover human remains in Tilden Regional Park in Berkley, CA. The identification of those remains is pending DNA confirmation from the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office. KRCR report that Lengyel was arrested yesterday, January 02nd over the matter.
According to the aforementioned news outlet, court records show that the Lengyel‘s previous marriage ended divorce in 2017, after a domestic violence incident, complete with a restraining order filed against Lengyel.
Lengyel was a member of Mr. Bungle from their early demo “The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny” through to 1995’s “Disco Volante“, playing the saxophone, clarinet and keyboards amid his run with the band, which ended in 1996 amid creative differences.
