Nekrogoblikon‘s latest touring incarnation has now become the band’s official lineup. With frontman Nicky Calonne having officially stepped down to—according to the band—’pursue a new life path’, both John Goblikon and Dickie Allen (Infant Annihilator, etc.) will now front the outfit. Goblikon will be taking on the clean vocals, while Allen will handle the heavier aspects.
Goblikon stated of his new role:
“I’m friggin’ singing RIGHT NOW! About dang time! And, I am excited to be the first guy in a band to ever say, ‘BIG THINGS COMING! STAY TUNED!’”
Allen added:
“I’m extremely grateful and stoked to join Nekrogoblikon full-time At the start of 2023, I never expected it to end like this. After such a short period of time, these guys have become family, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Nekrogoblikon.”
The band’s lead guitarist Alex Alereza also weighed in on the news, offering:
“We’re so excited to finally give John the promotion he’s always been dreaming of and officially welcome the super talented, goblin-in-human-form Dickie Allen to Nekrogoblikon. Touring together this past year has been an absolute blast, and the chemistry among the six of us on stage has been incredible. We can’t wait to bring this new energy to the studio.”
Calonne stepped down from the group this past spring for “personal reasons” and never returned. A collective statement issued by the band reads as follows:
“Nicky has amicably parted ways with Nekrogoblikon to pursue a new life path. We support his decision and wish him nothing but the best moving forward.
That being said, we are thrilled to announce our long-time mascot/insurance salesman John Goblikon and our new friend Dickie Allen as our permanent vocalists! As seen live this past year, John will handle the clean singing while Dickie takes on all things growling, screaming, and squealing.”
