Halestorm will have to clear up some more wall space soon, as the group have newly been awarded three new gold single certifications in the United States by the RIAA. “I Get Off“, the lead single from their gold-certified 2009 self-titled debut album has newly gone platinum as of yesterday, October 10th. It previously went gold back in July of 2017.
A pair of songs from the band’s platinum-certified sophomore album “The Strange Case Of…” are also among the latest recipients of the coveted awards. That album’s first single, “Love Bites (So Do I)” and third single “Freak Like Me“, were both certified gold this week.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
