Michigan metalcore outfit We Came As Romans were recently the victim of a daring theft while on tour in Australia. The incident took place in Adelaide, where the band were in town to play the Lion Arts Factory last night, August 30th (per time zone.) According to 7news.com.au, a thief broke into the band’s hotel room, which was occupied by guitarist/vocalist Joshua Moore at the time.
He proceeded to grab several of Moore‘s belongings, including his passport, and barricaded himself in the room, locking out Moore in the process. After being cornered inside the room as Moore and co. waited outside the door, the alleged thief then jumped from a five story window in an attempt to make his escape.
The 37-year-old suspect survived the fall, but was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries and presumably face charges for his actions. Per the below video report, the band themselves rushed to find the suspect on the phone with emergency services.
In addition to being interviewed in the below news report, the band commented briefly on the incident on their social media, offering “Australia is giving us a wild time, thankfully we are ok.”
The band’s Australian tour will roll on as follows:
08/31 Sydney, AUS – Liberty Hall
09/01 Melbourne, AUS – The Croxton
09/02 Brisbane, AUS – Princess Theatre
