Thrash metal legends Metallica will be broadcasting their upcoming two live performances in Arlington, TX to cinemas worldwide this August. Those shows will be held at the AT&T Stadium on August 18th & 20th and feature different setlists each night.

The band commented of their plans:

‘Just as listening parties with the Metallica Family are taking place around the world, we are back with more theatrical news. We’re thrilled to announce that both shows from Arlington, TX, on August 18 and August 20, will play live on big screens all around the globe!

Once again, we are partnering with the stellar team at Trafalgar Releasing to bring the M72 World Tour to your hometown movie theater. That’s right – two nights with two completely different setlists, including songs spanning all 40+ years of Metallica, from Kill ‘Em All up through tomorrow’s release, 72 Seasons. We won’t play a single song twice, making more than 30 unique songs across both nights.

We’ll be on stage in-the-round with the Snake Pit in the center of it all. With a state-of-the-art multi-camera setup, you can be right in the middle of the action, no matter where you are in the world. So let’s have a reunion in cinemas this August! Stay tuned to metallica.film for news and updates.

PS: You won’t have to get up in the middle of the night to see the shows from Arlington if you live on the other side of the planet… screenings in some countries/territories will be time-shifted to best suit local time zones.’

Tonight (April 13th) will also see the worldwide screening of the official listening party for the band’s impending eleventh studio album, “72 Seasons“. The group have shot visual accompaniments for each track on that opus and will be screening the entire experience in select theaters tonight. “72 Seasons” will meet its official release tomorrow, April 14th.
