Pantera look to have broken their radio silence amid the word of their impending reunion tour. Tonight (August 19th) saw the Texan groove metal titans share the below video online, seemingly suggesting that an official reveal of their plans is drawing near. As has already been well established by now, the surviving members of the classic era of the multi-platinum outfit: vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist/vocalist Rex Brown, will be reuniting to hit the road in celebration of the band’s legacy.
Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne) has been recruited to fill-in for the late “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, while Anthrax‘s Charlie Benante will be sitting behind the drum kit in place of the late Vinnie Paul Abbott. While yet to be publicly confirmed, rumors of the outfit taking the stage as early as late this year have begun to circulate, with ‘Knotfest Brasil‘ and ‘Hell & Heaven Metal Fest‘ reportedly among the top candidates for the band’s return.
Further touring is expected to take place in 2023 with North American and European dates reportedly being booked.
