The Ongoing Concept have posted a mini-documentary regarding the brain tumor diagnosis their bassist/banjo player TJ Nicholz received this past December and and the surgery he underwent as a result in mid-January for it. According to Nicholz, he developed a rather sudden onset case of blindness in his left eye following some bouts with migraines and more. As it turns out after surgery, he didn’t actually have a tumor, but rather was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, which he described as a form of vasculitis.
While he remains optimistic for his future, he did reveal that the condition will be an issue he will have to deal with for the rest of his life going forward.
Regarding his ongoing medical bills, you can contribute below:
“TJ was very hesitant on any crowd funding. However we thought it was important to give people an avenue to support him, so he agreed to share his PayPal link. Due to the rarity of his diagnosis, it is still unclear what his insurance will cover and what lifestyle changes will be necessary. Thank you all for your love and support, more updates to come!
Work on a new record, complete with Nicholz‘s involvement, will continue when he is able.
