Today (January 30th) saw the premiere of System Of A Down‘s music video for their track “Genocidal Humanoidz“. The band’s own Shavo Odadjian co-directed the video with Adam Mason, with its debut following a livestreamed fundraising event the band hosted via youtube.com/systemofadown to raise funds for the Artsakh and Armenian soldiers maimed and injured amidst the Nagorno-Karabakh war that broke out this past fall. As of press time nearly $250,000 had been raised via that fundraiser.
The aforementioned conflict spurred the band themselves to reunite in the studio late last year to record and release two benefit tracks, including the aforementioned cut and “Protect The Land“. Those songs marked their first new studio output in 15 years and the proceeds from them went on to raise over $600,000 for the Artsakh/Armenian people.
