System Of A Down hit a rare milestone this week that puts them in a rather exclusive club. The official music video their hit single “Chop Suey!” from their 3x multi-platinum 2001 sophomore breakout album “Toxicity” has officially surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.
Few videos from the genres of hard rock/heavy metal have managed to crest that milestone with Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine“, Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Linkin Park‘s “Numb” and “In The End” among them.
System Of A Down ended their 15-year drought of new music earlier this month with the release of two new tracks, raising over $600,000 for the Armenian people of Artsakh suffering in the Nagorno-Karabakh War in the process with them. You can find more on that here.
