Believer have set “Transhuman” as the title to their new album which will see an April 12th release date through Metal Blade. Speaking on the theme of the album, the band offered the following:
“The overall theme of the album was inspired by Transhumanist philosophies. The Transhumanist movement explores the use of science and technology to improve upon the biological capabilities of human beings and to remove limitations such as aging and disease. In general, we explored lyrical themes relating to what it means to be human – especially what it means to be human in the age of technology.
We received inspiration from Dr. Ginger Campbell’s Brain Science Podcast which explores recent discoveries in neuroscience. Several songs were inspired by Dr. Thomas Metzinger and his scientific and philosophical study of consciousness and the self.
Musically, we experimented with the integration of more melody and dynamics into the Believer sound. We also incorporated melodic vocals and layered vocal harmonies. After decades of experience, we are still very interested in growing as musicians, songwriters and producers. With Transhuman, our focus was on songwriting rather than just showcasing speed and technicality.”
