May 15th has been set as the release date for Binary Code‘s new album “Memento Mori“. The album is inspired entirely by the death of the girlfriend of the band’s guitarist Jesse Zuretti. The band have announced that all sales proceeds from the album will go towards suicide prevention. Zuretti commented:
“The album was written after my girlfriend at the time committed suicide. I found her hours after seeing her earlier that day. The album literally saved my life. I remember begging life for a sign or some guidance, and I woke up the next day and started writing music.”
In addtion to featuring a guest appearance from Arch Enemy‘s Jeff Loomis on the track “Those I Sought To Spare“, the album also sports a cover of Mazzy Star‘s “Fade Into You“. That rendition can be found below, with pre-orders up at Bandcamp.com.
