Cancer Bats guitarist/vocalist Scott Middleton has announced that he will be sitting out touring with the band for the remainder of the year due to the impending birth of his first child. In his place the group have tapped Wade MacNeil of Alexisonfire/Gallows fame to fill-in. Middleton commented of the matter:
“Thanks to everyone who made my last @cancerbats tour of the year so awesome! Had a blast at all our shows across France and the UK! Feels crazy to be missing my first show ever in 15 years of CB, but couldn’t be more excited about having our first child in a few more weeks! @wademacneil has my back on the shred stick while I’m gone! Go check out all our tours in Canada, Australia and Europe before the year’s end!
Since I’ll be at home, I’ll be open to doing more studio work than ever before. Please email me @ [email protected] if you’re interested in help with Production, mixing, mastering, songwriting etc.”
Cancer Bats themselves briefly commented on the matter as well, offering: Scoeby is taking a break for the rest of the year, and we couldn’t be more excited for him to start this new chapter in his life.”
