Watch A U.S. Congressman Slip Metallica Song Titles Into His Testimony Regarding The Band's Alleged Shady Ticketing Practices

Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ) took some liberties with his various mentions of Metallica and their songs while proposing tougher laws for live ticketing events as part of his ‘Boss Act’ (named after Bruce Springsteen). As part of that act, Pascrell hopes to further regulate the U.S. primary and secondary ticket markets and the shady practices that continue to frustrate fans. As often happens, tickets show up on the secondary market at a marked up price before fans can ever get their hand on them at face value.

In the below testimony being presented to the Energy and Commerce Committee for the latest iteration of the Boss act, he laid into Metallica, Live Nation and more. The band were a target of his ire following a recent report by Billboard that an insider in Metallica‘s camp had entered a deal with Live Nation to put some 88,000 tickets on the secondary market before they even went on sale to the public.

The move was allegedly done in a bid to recapture some of the potentially lost value on the resale market. Metallica themselves have yet to comment on that report. You can watch Pascrell’s testimony on the matter below:
