MetalSucks have unearthed a rare track from Iowan outfit Smakdab, which sports an appearance from Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor and some production work from ex-Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison.
The track, titled “Shadowed“, originated back in 1998 and according to Smakdab keyboardist Gabe Wilkinson, was mostly buried by Slipknot‘s label Roadrunner Records. Wilkinson has since said of that: “We got a nice letter from Roadrunner Records at the time making it very clear to not put Corey or Joey’s name anywhere on our release.”
Taylor himself found out about the track’s re-emergence via Twitter, stating that he hadn’t heard it since he was in the studio recording it:
‘Shadowed’ goddamn, I haven’t heard this song since we recorded it!! Great band! https://t.co/6ywJIrYRxV

And yes, in case you were curious, it turns out Theprp did cover Smakdab back in the day.
