In Motive are a fledgling new outfit who feature guitarist Lee McKinney (Born Of Osiris), guitarist Nick Rossi (ex-City In The Sea), drummer Conor White and vocalist Devin Barrus. Two tracks from the outfit have officially been released with a music video for their song “Revival” and a stream of “The Disconnect” both available below.
Barrus was found via the mystery band open audition vocalist search launched by Sumerian Records late last year. That video in particular turned into the newly released track “The Disconnect“. The instrumentals for the album were recorded with Nick Sampson (Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men) producing, while Korn frontman Jonathan Davis produced the vocal sessions. Sampson himself also played the bass on the studio recordings for the album. Rossi commented:
“We’re super comfortable with Nick Sampson. He’s really tight with us and even played bass on the record. We’re all Korn fans, and working with Jonathan was just incredible. To be able to hang with him and get insights into what he’s seen throughout his years in the industry and hear his opinion on our songs was unbelievable. He took our vision and helped us get to where we need to be.”
