Megadeth vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine has now commented on a rendition of Metallica‘s “Master Of Puppets“being played as he and his bandmates walked to the stage yesterday to accept their award for ‘Best Metal Performance’ at the 59th annual Grammys.
Megadeth took home the award for their track “Dystopia” at a pre-awards show ceremony with the successful nod being their twelfth nomination of their career. As Mustaine and Metallica have had a complicated relationship over the years since his ejection from the group in the early 1980’s due to his then problems with substance abuse, it was an odd moment to say the least.
Tweeting to a fan earlier today about the moment, Mustaine offered:
Ah, you can't blame 'em for not being able to play @Megadeth https://t.co/acEyzSQgyT
