There’s certainties in life and there’s even more certainties when it comes to Max Cavalera being interviewed. Metalpaths.tv were the latest to ask Cavalera if he would ever reunite with his former bandmates in Sepultura and got a surprisingly receptive answer. It was only just 2015 when Cavalera said that his former band had “turned to shit.” Perhaps the recent 20th anniversary touring in support of Sepultura‘s “Roots” he has been doing with his brother Iggor Cavalera—who is also a former member of Sepultura—has warmed him up.
He was asked if he would ever considering rejoining the band should the opportunity ever come up, to which he replied:
“Yeah, if it was done the right way, it would be great, but right now, I don’t even think we need it, because I think this [‘Return To Roots‘] tour kind of proved to the fans that they don’t even care if it’s all original. I think they just… they like me and Iggor—most of the fans just wanna see me and Iggor—so I almost think that is the reunion, as far as I’m concerned and as far as a lot of fans are concerned. But, you know, if eventually that day comes that [Andreas] says that—I don’t think that’s gonna happen, because I know him. [Laughs]—But if it does, yeah, of course, we would do a proper reunion tour, you know.”
