When it comes to Twitter, custom emojis via hashtags only usually crop up for large events—be it the biggest of sporting events, the opening dates of gigantic movies or the season premieres of hit TV shows. There’s a reason for that, as reports allege that the price of such an emoji can run up into the millions.
Today (November 18th) Metallica now have their very own custom emoji for the #metallica, #blackenedfriday & #hardwiredtoselfdestruct hashtags on the social media platform. It’s a fairly unprecedented move for a metal band, but with countless millions of records sold, Metallica are no ordinary metal band. Regardless of the cost, it’s still pretty cool to see.
