Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has commented that he feels Guns N’ Roses current reunion run has pegged the band as a ‘nostalgia act’. He recently told latimes.com:
“Unfortunately, they’ve turned into somewhat of a nostalgia act, which to me is kind of sad.”
Hammett was seemingly referring more towards Guns N’ Roses‘ current touring on their past glories rather than continuing to put out new material—though there have been rumors that new Guns N’ Roses material is in the works. Vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield added:
“I don’t want to think we’re trying to stay young by writing new stuff, but it makes us feel relevant. It makes us feel like we’re still progressing.”
Metallica‘s new album, “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct“, is due in stores next week on November 18th.
