Metallica took part in a fan Q&A for 500 fans in Mexico City this past weekend (see below) and among the various questions they were asked, was if they would ever perform their 1988 album “…And Justice for All in its entirety. Drummer Lars Ulrich opened up, offering:

“Remember the last answer about there not being enough time to do all the shit we want to do? That one applies to ‘…And Justice For All‘ too. It’s on a list somewhere, we’ll get around to it hopefully.”

Singer/guitarist James Hetfield then quipped: “It’s too hard.” Guitarist Kirk Hammett also joked: “What’s Rob gonna do? If we play all of ‘…And Justice For All‘ what’s Rob gonna do? There’s no bass on the album.”

Bassist Robert Trujillo then interjected, saying: “I’ll dance. We did play “Frayed Ends Of Sanity” last year, “Frayed Ends Of Sanity“, we played that song. So theoretically the whole album has been played, just not in one sitting.” During the same Q&A Hetfield also said that the band have yet to make their best album, insisting:

“The next album is always going to be the better one. We haven’t made our best record yet.”

Metallica‘s new album “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” will arrive in stores on November 18th.
