All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte hasn’t been shy of the big changes the band have made for their new album, previously revealing that outside writers were brought in to help shape the songs. He also boasted that “there are songs like nothing we’ve ever done before.” Thanks to a new studio report on the album featured in the latest issue of ‘Revolver, we now know why. As Labonte explains, this time around they wrote the album from a vocal perspective, he commented:

“We wanted to mix it up a little bit and write from a vocal perspective this time. So I went to L.A. and came up with vocal ideas and melodies and then sent those chord progressions back to Oli [Herbert] and he wrote riffs in response to that.”

According to Labonte the album will also feature “significant programming and electronic sounds.” He explained

“That’s something we wanted to have flowing through the entire record. So you’re gonna hear that kind of influence on most of the tracks.”

The band have been working on the effort with producer Howard Benson (P.O.D., Creed) for an early 2017 release date.
