Actor/comedian Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith held their benefit show last night, April 29th, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. The two once again had a drum-off, this time enlisting the help from some of their famous friends. Footage of that can be found below along with some fan-filmed footage of the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing their cover of Stevie Wonder‘s “Higher Ground“.
That particular cover was a star-studded affair, with help from Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Stewart Copeland (The Police), Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe) Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Fred Armisen (‘Portlandia‘, etc.), Josh Freese (Devo, etc.) and Ferrell himself, among others. Proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.
