You may already know that the Cavalera brothers Max and Igor are fleshing out plans to tour the U.S. together with a trek celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sepultura‘s 1996 album “Roots“, performing it in full each night. What you may not know is that it is tentatively expected to commence in mid-September and run till late October. A European tour behind the album is also in the works.

Both men were of course instrumental in Sepultura‘s early days and “Roots” also wound up being Cavalera‘s final album with the band (Igor himself left much later in 2006.) The pair have since been reunited in Cavalera Conspiracy these days. Should the “Roots” trek be a success, the pair may also celebrate upcoming milestones of other past Sepultura releases. Max recently told rocksverige.se:

“…We’re doing the U.S. and maybe Europe too. We’re looking at it right now. For me it’s really interesting to do that with Igor. First, because I’ve never played a whole record before. If it works, I told Igor we could do the 30th anniversary of “Arise” or whatever, so we really hope it’s gonna work. Igor talks about showing some videos, so we’re gonna try and see if that will work. We’re looking for a bass player and we’re gonna find someone cool to do it. I think it’s gonna be cool. The whole record, properly played and properly done. I think the fans are really gonna like that.”

Just for the record, “Arise” won’t hit its 30th anniversary for another five years, so perhaps they could just sub in a 25th anniversary tour of “Chaos A.D.” in two years instead?
