It seems some ugly holiday sweaters have even uglier consequences. The Detroit Free Press report that Anthrax have been hit with a $1 million USD lawsuit over their ‘Happy Hanukkah’ sweater which they launched late last year. That sweater design, which you can see below, is alleged to have been originally created by paintiff Aaron Cummings (his version is on the right in the image,) who created it back in 2012 and registered the design with the U.S. copyright office in 2013.
Originally only 300 copies of the sweater were produced and sold exclusively through Rockabilia.com. Along with Anthrax, Rockabilia and Global Merchandising Services have been named in the suit, which seeks $1 million in damages, as well as the destruction of any remaining merch bearing the design and the plates, etc. used to manufacture it.
