Medal Of Honor recipient Florent Groberg was asked about his encounter with Korn frontman Jonathan Davis during his recent appearance on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘. You may recall that U.S. President Barack Obama made some jokes regarding Groberg‘s recollection of meeting Davis during his initial recovery while recently presenting him with the Medal Of Honor.
Apparently unbeknownst to Stephen Colbert, Davis was in fact present at the time of Groberg‘s recovery, with the band having been visiting various army bases while filming the ‘Wounded Warriors‘ documentary (see below) at the time.
Groberg himself earned the distinction for tackling a suicide bomber in August of 2012, saving numerous lives of his fellow soldiers, while suffering serious wounds himself in the process. As Groberg went on to say of awaking to find Davis in his presence:
“It was him. It was him. Washington Post—you know they did a story, he remembers the day. They were up there… doing a concert for the troops.”
The story Groberg mentioned can be read here.
