Space rock greats Failure have announced “Location Lost” as their seventh studio album. That 9-song effort will be arriving on April 24th via their own Failure Records in conjunction with Arduous Records, a new Virgin Music Group imprint overseen by veteran manager Blaze James.

Location Lost” comes with a guest appearance from a long-time Failure superfan in Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams, who appears on “The Rising Skyline“. Williams covered Failure‘s “Daylight” live with the band’s frontman Ken Andrews last February. Paramore have also covered several Failure tracks in the past.

Speaking of this newest collection of songs, Failure bassist, etc. Greg Edwards stated: “It’s very different. There are sounds and parts that really don’t have any precedence within the Failure world.”

The song “The Air’s On Fire” has been unveiled as the first single from this new offering and is now streaming below. That track was directly influenced by a back injury that vocalist/guitarist, etc. Ken Andrews suffered and a challenging recovery process that ensued from the resulting surgery.

He relayed, “That song is directly about my surgery and waking up. I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, ‘Turn the air on. I’m fine—just take me home.’ I was definitely not fine.” A Sean Stout-directed video for that song is now available.
