Dutch progressive metalcore band Textures will have their comeback album “Genotype” out on January 23rd through Kscope. While previously disbanding in 2017, the band announced their return to active duty in 2023, with this forthcoming effort being their first new album to arrive since. “Closer To The Unknown” arrived as the first single from that record this past June, with today’s (November 06th) reveal of “At The Edge Of Winter” now following it.
Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain, etc.) guests on this latest track and the band’s own bassist Remko Tielemans took on directing the music video for the pairing. As you may have surmised given its title, this self-produced record, which was mixed by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), is indeed a counterpart to Textures‘ previous release, 2016’s “Phenotype“.
