Avant-garde metal outfit Dreadnought‘s cover of Nine Inch Nails‘ “The Becoming” has been released as the second single from next month’s pair of tribute albums to the aforementioned industrial metal legends. A music video for their rendition of that “The Downward Spiral” cut has been released below. The band’s vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Kelly Schilling also had the following to say of tackling this track:
“What excited us most about our choice of ‘The Becoming‘ for this tribute was the challenge of covering an artist with a completely different sound from us yet one that we love and respect. While we wanted to pay homage to the original song, we also wanted to fully make it our own. We had a lot of fun interpreting the melodies and nuances with different voicings and instrumentation, and we couldn’t resist adding a new flair of our own.”
Magnetic Eye Records have overseen those upcoming tribute albums, which include ‘The Downward Spiral Redux” and the ‘Best Of Nine Inch Nails Redux“. Both sets are headed for a November 28th release date and will run as follows.
