Frontierer have issued a new music video for their first-ever song, “The Collapse“. The audio featured in the clip has newly been re-mixed by Pedram Valiani and remastered by Brad Boatright. That duo oversaw those same tasks for the upcoming 10th anniversary vinyl pressing of the Scottish extreme metal band’s debut outing “Orange Mathematics“. A Halloween (October 31st) release date has been confirmed that for effort, with pre-orders available through linktr.ee/FrontiererOfficial. As for taking this trip down memory lane, the band offered:
“This is the first song we ever wrote (officially) as Frontierer and it feels as relevant today as it did 13 years ago (that EP; for all you die hards and long timers).
Times have changed but the energy has NOT.
We’ve been incredibly fortunate and privileged to see so many amazing parts of the world with this band and we want that to continue.
Please celebrate with us through this modest collection designed by our good friend Mitchell Gillies.
Mitchell was the main source of inspiration for taking writing music into my own hands. He used to write these insane guitar pro files which I’d learn from and to this day it feels so unnatural to me that someone would write music this way. But hey, that’s how it was done.
Anyway, it took a long time and many attempts of re-recording the exact same riff 1000 times (literally) for tones, until a few pennies dropped and I developed my own way to write and arrange songs. After being frustrated trying to string together a band locally I decided that barrier to progress had to be broken. So, cue vocalist 5000 miles away across an ocean. Now, Chad is one of my best friends and he feels so “local” but so much of this still seems alien to so many people I speak to. It’s wild.
Dan approached me after a gig with my other band at the time, Sectioned. We had all just broken up after that show (previous lineup). It didn’t make sense stage-diving to post-rock. Dude was in the wrong band. So we changed that and now he’s also one of my best friends – a pattern emerges! The contribution that Luke, Iain, Calum and all of our crew has made to this day has been immeasurable.
Enjoy this short story, the tunes, the merch and we will see you all very soon. Thank you for everything.”
