Molotov Solution have publicly distanced themselves from a new vinyl reissue of their 2009 effort, “The Harbinger“. That record was originally released via Metal Blade Records and was properly licensed via Deathly Decibels Records for this new reissue. Taking to their Instagram stories over the weekend, the Las Vegas, NV-based deathcore band voiced their concerns as follows:
“We will clarify for those of you that would like to know what’s up with this.
We did not approve or give a go ahead for this release.
There’s been plenty of indie wax labels asking about doing it but we have always explained that we would prefer to do it ourselves which is what was planned for this year. Had DDR asked us if it was ok we would have explained our plan but they didn’t.
HOWEVER, we don’t own the rights to this album, MB does and they have never paid us anything for it and they don’t seem interested in even doing so as this license does not even count towards recoupment for the album. So we know that we will never see a dime for Harbinger.
No hate towards DDR, but taking the opportunity to profit off a band that has never been paid for their hard work is not the DIY label approach, it’s big label.
With that being said, if you would like to purchase this on vinyl this may be the only chance. We will never stop trying to own it completely so maybe one day, maybe not.

The band have now indicated that Deathly Decibels‘ plans to reissue the album have been halted. In a statement shared via social media today, April 14th, the band offered:
“@deathlydecibelsrecords has been gracious enough to halt the release of “The Harbinger” vinyl pressing. We greatly appreciate his change of heart on the matter. We didn’t set out to make this a “thing” …it really just means the world to us to have control of our own art, so again, we thank him for his understanding and decision to stop the release.
Thank you all for the support and sorry for those let down by this. Hopefully one day we can release this ourselves.”
