Centershift have premiered a music video online for their single “And So…“. That song features a guest spot from Tallulah Swasey of Grumpy Plum. Centershift feature members and alumni of OneSideZero, Shuvel and Bemus fame. Vocalist Jason Radford had the following to say about this Ben Trandem directed video:
“I feel the importance of bringing awareness to the fact that domestic violence is a very real issue. Having been exposed myself, our intent with the ‘And So…‘ video was to capture the honesty and realness the song was written for—to give light on what, for many, is a link to one’s own Disease and recovery.”
Trandem added:
“When conceptualizing the video, the lyrical repetition of ‘How could we know?’ really stuck in my mind. It felt like a phrase that was referencing something that was uncontrollably escalating. Using that feeling, I crafted a single moment that could build emotionally in that manner, with that feeling. Once I had that laid out, the emotion was there, but—running linear—it felt a bit stale, mundane. By writing out the emotional and physical beats for this single scene in reverse, it created a proper layer of mystery—adding the question of ‘How did we get here?’ to the whole video.”
