Jordan Buckley, the now former guitarist of Every Time I Die, has been addressing various fans and friends amid the wreckage of last night’s announcement that the Buffalo, NY metalcore institution had laid their 20-plus year career to rest. That breakup saw 4/5th of the outfit announce the band’s dissolution, citing issues with frontman Keith Buckley, who is also Jordan‘s brother. You can read the statement filed by the instrumental half of the group and a legal request for a separation agreement they sent to Keith here.
Their split followed tensions within ranks that spilled over to the public eye late last year.
Speaking across social media today (January 18th,) Jordan has shared some insight for his and his former Every Time I Die bandmates (sans Keith‘s) future plans and more. Some highlights from his replies include:
That was sent to let him know we’d left, and that if he wanted to replace us and continue on like we’d been hearing, we were more ok with it, we just wanted it done professionally and legally. It’s actually quite smart. But I understand that people will believe whatever they want

That’s the plan. I hope I never stop getting in a room with these 3 to write rippers

I’ve never asked anyone to pick a side, nor will I. The pitting of fans against each other played a huge factor in my decision. So this is just 4 people doing what is best for them. Maybe one day we’ll tell our side of the story, but we’re still grieving. It’s only been a month.

There is no replacing Keith which is exactly why we never even gave it a thought. Tremendous talent. Very gifted. I’m glad I saw this tweet because I really think you understand how creativity isn’t something you can just turn off ??

You’re absolutely right, it should not have ended like this.
