The New York Daily News report that former Outbreak/Grave Maker guitarist Brian Kemsley recently stopped and subdued a man in NYC’s Madison Square Park who is alleged to have attempted to steal a baby from a woman’s stroller.
Since Outbreak called it quits nearly a decade ago, Kemsley has been focusing on teaching Muay Thai. Upon hearing the scream of the mother while in the aforementioned park back on November 09th, Kemsley rushed over to restrain the man in question, utilizing several different holds from his martial arts background.
According the report, Kemsley subdued the man until authorities later arrived, telling the aforementioned publication of the incident, “The man is saying things like, “How do you know this isn’t my baby? Why are you helping her? This could be my baby, you don’t know that.” He added, “Throughout the whole thing, it became clear that this man actually had mental issues.”
The would-be abductor was eventually taken into custody by police and sent to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation. Footage of the incident can be seen below:
